Dracaena Dorado & Hawaiian sunshine are two recently patented tropical plants from NV Vermeulen.

Light yellow and lemon. These are the colours of the two new Primulas that Rudy Raes Bloemzaden is presenting at IPM Essen 2012. Because they flower slightly later, this Veristar light yellow and Veristar lemon are a worthwhile addition to the range of plants that flower in spring.

The newest Hortinno® is already a new classic within the azalea assortment. The Classic Bicolor has a remarkably fine leaf sheen and two-coloured flowers rich in contrast.

Vivid colours are in again. In fashion, and definitely in the interior. The three new Guzmanias from Exotic Plant bring any room to life with their striking red and yellow tints.

Belgian exporters will be taking part in this ornamental plant trade fair for the 29rd time. You will find them in Hall 2 (Booth B25) and in Hall 12 (Booth C15).

NEWS WINTER 2012: ORNAMENTAL HORTICULTURE IN FLANDERS ( PDF, 3742 kB )

On the VLAM stand meet an extensive delegation of meat, poultry, egg, rabbit and dairy-product exporters

Traditionally the food sector plays an important part in the Belgian economy. In 2010 Belgium recorded a net export of 16.4 billion euros. Twenty-two per cent of this positive balance is achieved by the export of agri-food products. Flanders, the northern part of Belgium, is not only a major food producer for Belgium as such, but also for its neighbouring countries and for the whole of Europe. For this reason it is obvious that the Belgian suppliers of meat, poultry, eggs, rabbits and dairy products will take part in Anuga 2011 (8 to 12 October, Cologne).

Laurus nobilis is the great speciality of the Devriese-Luyssen ornamental plant nursery. The ‘Muses of Alloro’ concept focuses extra attention on the varying qualities of three striking laurel cultivars.

The Lagerstroemia was originally an exotic plant that flourishes in hot regions. So it was a challenge to find hardy varieties. Devriese-Luyssen now offer a range of Lagerstroemias under the name ‘Muses of Helios’ that do outstandingly well in temperate climates.
