On the First day of the exhibition Salon du Végétal the campany Raes won the inovation price for the new plant Primula elatior Castillian.

For the second time flower artist Daniël Ost surprises on DECOoh! This time with a landscape dominated by the Aiko azalea. An abstract valley symbolises the origin of the azalea and the birth of the Aiko in particular. Everything refers to ‘new life’: a flower, a season.

Tuesday 2 and Wednesday 3 March 2010 will witness the FLORALL spring trade fair in Flanders Expo in Ghent (Belgium). 250 ornamental plant growers will once again be showing off their spring assortments to an international professional audience. Visitors will encounter a wide selection of Belgian florist and tree nursery products, wholesalers, and suppliers. In addition, there will also be a number of exhibitors from abroad. This makes FLORALL an ideal market place for purchasers from garden centres, wholesalers, landscape gardeners, exporters, and purchasing organisations.

Next year, Ghent will again be the Mecca for all flower and plant lovers. This floriculture event is the perfect opportunity to form new international business relationships. VLAM is organising contact days for this purpose and is pleased to invite potential European retail groups and garden centre chains.

Valleybrook Gardens is starting to grow thousands of a select variety of Helleborus x nigercors that will be named 'Vancouver Medallion' for the Winter Olympics. The plant was developed at the Belgian nursery of Het Wilgenbroek as part of their Winter Magic series. In Belgium, the plant is sold under the name 'Candy Love'.

Belgian Meat Office starts a new advertising campaign to promote the high quality professional skills of the Belgian meat exporting companies. “The new campaign image reflects in a superb way where the Belgian meat exporting companies stand for”, says René Maillard, Manager at Belgian Meat Office.

On 27th August the Belgian Meat Office held its fourth round-table discussions in Brussels involving trade journalists from Germany, France, Italy and the Netherlands and Belgian meat exporters. The main theme of these discussions was: “Specialists or generalists? Professional skills still have a future”.
